VATA
Vata (air and space):
Someone who has a lot of Vata in them will often be an outgoing person who is a good networker. They may talk a lot on some days and be extremely enthusiastic, but are prone to changing their minds quickly. They are likely to be creative and intuitive by nature, thriving off variety, change and travel. They like to start new projects (but may not always get round to finishing them!).
Vata types may sometimes forget to eat, and tend to have weaker digestive systems. They are often on the slimmer side, but may have a little belly (bloating!) or fluctuating weight (perhaps due to emotional eating). They tend to have slighter bones, drier hair and irregular features. Vata people often feel any draft in any room, and may pick at rather than eat their food. They might be drawn to things like raw food diets or fasting, even though it’s the last thing they need!
When our Vata dosha is out of balance, we can be anxious, worried, overwhelmed, stressed, lack concentration and have brain fog. We may experience gas and bloating, dry skin, lower back pain, insomnia, cold hands and feet, headaches, heart palpitations, numbness or tingling sensations (in any body part). If Vata is really out of balance, we may experience dryness on a deep level in the form of osteoarthritis, chronic joint pain, forms of dementia and so on.
