Our session will be

  • Personalized

Our initial session will be dedicated to assessing your prakriti (dosha balance at birth) and vikriti (current imbalances). From this, we can create a personalized plan to fit your unique well-being needs and goals, and which also fits into your lifestyle.

  • Targeted

In Ayurveda, we treat the doshas rather than specific ailments. Most people have two or three little niggles rather than just the one, and together these symptoms tend to show me which doshas are out of balance. Once I know this, I can begin to help.

  • Integrative

Since achieving wellness is more than just diet (although in Ayurveda, food is most definitely medicine!), I’ll be guiding you towards helpful practices such as yoga, exercise, mindfulness training, self massage, useful herbs and oils, and knowledge of fantastic breathing techniques (pranayama), as well as educating you on food/ exercise to avoid for your current vikriti and original prakriti.

What’s involved in an ayurvedic consultation?

Before our initial consultation, I’ll send you a short form to complete. When we meet, we will go through a more detailed form and discuss questions related to your lifestyle, diet, sleep, childhood, reactions to things, mood, relationships, current complaints and so on. I'll also ask you to keep a food/drink diary for about a week. During the first consultation (or coaching session) I will also review your health history, wellness goals and personal health challenges.

I will carry out a pulse and tongue diagnosis in order to see if your body knows something that you don't (it's easy for me to be able to recognise your prakriti and vikriti using these diagnostic practices). If we are meeting virutally, I’ll ask you to send me a couple of photos of your tongue! We will then set some targets together which will form the basis of your personalised Ayurveda assessment plan. This may be in the form of food/herb intake, yoga asanas, sleep/lifestyle tweaks, meditation and pranayama (breathing) techniques or self massage.

We will also set a date for the second consultation (most likely two weeks later). The vast majority of people see benefits within this first two-week period, and some may not ever need another consultation if their complaint goes away during this time!  Others however, may need a follow-up consultation after a fortnight where the treatment plan is modified according to any changes that have been noted.  Some clients then wish to see me as and when, whilst others prefer to see me four times a year with the change in seasons.

Each coaching session will last for an hour.
